Hello, I'm Cynthia
I am the founder of Clear Mind Directive CMD Counselling Services. I take the whole approach to well-being. It is my belief that to heal the mind, we need to focus on the whole person.
I will guide you and assist you to link into other agencies if required whilst focusing on your psychosocial mental health and emotional self.
I have 14 years of experience working as a Clinical therapist/counsellor and a Mental Health Practitioner in both the private and government health sector. Previously I worked in the education sector. for 10 years working in primary, secondary and tertiary. I have worked with children ranging from kindergarten to year 12 as an educator and support officer/counsellor. In tertiary education, I was a career guidance counsellor and education support coordinator. Giving me a vast understanding of the life span and developmental needs.
I have lived in Western Australia all my life and moved to the beautiful coastal City of Rockingham 32 years ago to raise my 3 children...They are all adults now who have given me 4 wonderful mischievous grandchildren. I am a proud diverse cultured woman, Irish/Scottish from my mother's side and First Nation on my father's side.

My life experience is not only academic in my chosen field or career. I have lived experience as a career for family and friends. I was raised by my grandmother in a 3-bedroom Dept. Housing which had anywhere up to 10 family members living at any time. My Grandmother ran a tight ship, but she was also very caring and compassionate and taught me that if I believed in something to go after it no matter what others thought.
It's this compassion, love, and strength I work with when guiding others.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) - Research has proven that this therapy works well with those suffering from anxiety and depression
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) - DBT focuses on mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. DBT was initially designed to treat people with suicidal behaviour and borderline personality disorder. However, it has been adapted for other mental health problems that threaten a person's safety, relationships, work, and emotional well-being.
